Kathleen M. McLeod, 91, of Crystal Falls, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2009, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls.
She was born November 2, 1918, in Lake Linden, Mich., daughter of the late Lincoln and Mayme (Moehrke) Williams. Kathleen married Irving McLeod on June 15, 1940, in Lake Linden. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1995.
Kathleen graduated from Lake Linden High School, Class of 1937. She worked from 1937 to 1940 for Thatcher Insurance, Co., Pontiac, Mich. After moving to Crystal Falls in 1942, Kathleen worked as an assistant librarian for the Crystal Falls Community Library for 20 years.
She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, UMW Ruth Circle, a Life Member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter No. 250, and was also a Sunday School Teacher in Crystal Falls. Along with her husband, Irving, Kathleen was selected "Crystal Falls Citizen of the Year" in 1992, by the Lions Club of Crystal Falls. She was also an avid bridge player and baker. Kathleen enjoyed sharing her gourmet bakery with all of her friends.
Kathleen is survived by one sister, Grace Howell, Corry, Penn.; one niece, Sharon (Joseph) Howell Hurta, Corry, Penn.; cousins, other relatives and many caring and loving friends.
Pallbearers will include Roger and Fred Stoor, Scott Kenney, Max Woelffer, Al and Julius Simbob.

Visitation will be Friday, December 4, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, Crystal Falls. There will be an Order of the Easter Star (OES) memorial service 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Rev. Stephen Rhoades will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
