Katherine Schiavo, 93, of Crystal Falls, Mich., went to be with her Lord Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility (ICMCF) after a one year illness. She was born on March 16, 1914, in Crystal Falls, the daughter of the late Cresente and Rose Ann (Relievo) Rondon. She married John P. Schiavo on May 10, 1933, he preceded her in death on March 2, 1986. John and Katherine were residents of the Crystal Falls area for their entire life. Katherine was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church and the lady's guild. She was self employed as a house keeper for many of the Crystal Falls area residents. Katherine loved cooking and spending time with her family. She enjoyed her retirement years traveling and spending her winters in Southern California and Arizona, until her illness in June 2006, at which time she became a resident at the ICMCF. She is survived by her daughter, Rita (Robert) Leanna , Amasa, Mich.; two sons, Donald Schiavo, Camp Lake, Wis., Larry (Susan) Schiavo, Crystal Falls; a son-in-law, Charles Froblom, Iron River, Mich.; three sisters, Ann Zanon, Caspian, Mich., Theresa Rose Bowman, Crystal Falls, Marion (Francis) Furno, Columbus, Ohio; 14 grandchildren, Dennis (Sharon) Sandri, Grayslake, Ill., Dean (Rhonda) Sandri, Laguna Niguel, Calif., David (Sherri) Sandri, Highlands Ranch, Colo., Daniel Schiavo, Camp Lake, Colleen (Tom) Robinson, Camp Lake, Shelly (Joe) Bainbridge, Lodi, Wis., Susan (Steve) Mauher, Las Vegas, Nev., Sally Samis, Sioux Falls, S.D., Ronald Froblom, Iron River, Tammy (Harry) Weng, Ishpeming, Mich., Terri (John) Howard, Maine, Tim Schiavo, Orange County, Calif., Tony (Carole) Schiavo, Omer, Mich., Lisa (Rich) Santi, Crystal Falls; 19 great-grandchildren, John, Brian, Kevin, Jason, Teresa, Eric, Chelsea, Jacob, Alex, Megan, Alysa, Eric, Maria, Nicholas, Samuel, Toni Lu, Paul, Dante, Raven; 4 great-great-grandchildren, Koralie, Benjamin, Taylor, Braydon; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, John, Katherine was preceded in death by daughter Rosemary Froblom in 2000; son-in-law David Sandri; a grand-daughter, Teresa Kay Sandri; three sisters, Caroline Johnson, Carmen Hendershott, Tressa DePotsie; and brother, Angelo Rondon. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 29, 2007, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am at the church. Fr.
