June R. Occhietti, 96, of Iron Mountain, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015, at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, Wis. She was born December 4, 1918, in Niagara, Wis., daughter of the late Alfred and Margaret (Netzer) Burbey. June attended school in Kingsford, Mich. and graduated from Kingsford High School, Class of 1936. She married Joseph Occhietti on May 19, 1945, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara; he preceded her in death on April 27, 1964. She worked at Marcouillers Food Center for 11 years and later worked for the Lake Antoine Motel as Clerk and Manager for 25 years before retiring. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain, The Daughters of Isabella and The Royal Neighbors of America. June enjoyed bowling and loved to play cards with her friends. June is survived by one son, Jerry (Judy) Occhietti, Norway; one daughter, Joan Jacobs, Appleton, Wis.; two sisters-in-law, Edith Weiss, Iron Mountain and Louise Tousignant, Iron River, Mich.; three grandchildren, Paula (Robert) Sparks, Joseph Occhietti and Deanna Occhietti; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Joe, June was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Burbey and four sisters, Norma McAllister, Irene Ready, Esther McCarthy and Blanch Prosser. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 11, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Prayers will be offered Thursday, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
