Spread Eagle: Judith Marie Thomas, age 57, of Spread Eagle, Wis., formerly of Racine, Wis., went home to the Lord on September 28, 2005. Judy was born January 23, 1948, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Harley and Alma (Anderson) Gardalan. Judy graduated from Alden High School, Alden, IA, and Dana College in Blair, Neb. On August 15, 1981, Judy married Robert Thomas in Racine, Wis. She was a member Of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Iron Mountain, Mich., where she truly enjoyed being a choir member. Judy was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She loved winters, traveling and her flower garden. Besides her husband Bob, Judy is survived by a son Christopher, Cedarburg, Wis.; her father Harley Gardalan, Popejoy, IA, two sisters Victoria (Vicky) Wiechmann of Flanagan, Ill., Karen (Bill) Knight, Iowa City, IA; two stepchildren Mark Thomas of Racine, Wis., Angela Thomas, Union Grove, Wis.; step-granddaughter Taylor Thomas of Union Grove, Wis.; mother-in-law, Mary Thomas, Racine, Wis.; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in law, nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her mother Alma Gardalan. Visitation will be Friday, September 30, 2005, from 5-7p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain, and Monday, October 3, 2005, from 9:30-11:00a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Dows, Iowa. Funeral services will be at 11:00a.m. at the church. Pastor William Straka will officiate. Burial will be in Otis Grove Cemetery.
