Judith Jane McElroy, 77, of Florence, Wis., passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the Golden Living Center, Florence. She was born January 10, 1933, in Madison, Wis., daughter of the late LeRoy and Nina (Thompson) Kreisler. Judith grew up in Madison and graduated from Madison East High School, Class of 1951. She married George Thorson on May 2, 1951, in DuBuque, Iowa. Judith and George lived in Spokane, Wash. and moved back to Madison in 1955. George preceded her in death on July 14, 1991. Judith married Spencer McElroy July 20, 1974, in Hales Corners, Wis. They lived in Hales Corners where they owned and operated Hales Corners Heating and Air Conditioning for 10 years. Judith and Spencer moved to Florence in 1980, where she worked at the Florence Villa, now known as the Golden Living Center, for many years. She enjoyed ATV rides, hunting, spending time outdoors, and especially spending time with her family. Judith is survived by her husband, Spencer McElroy; one son, Kevin McElroy (Wayne), Fox Point, Wis.; four daughters, Roxanne (Steve) Peterson, Stoughton, Wis., Rhonda (Ken) Frank, Monona, Wis., Renee (Michael) Leben, Fort Pierce, Fla., Carrie McElroy (Pat), Big Bend, Wis.; 14 grandchildren, Chris, Kelly (Pat), Danyelle, Tony (Sara), Charity (Joe), Courtney, Chelsea, Tyler, Briana, Sherrie, Stephanie, Kenneth, Amanda, Eli; one sister, Arlene (Willie) Hanson, Cannon Falls, Minn.; three brothers, Kerry (Helen) Kreisler, Cannon Falls, Randall Kreisler, Desoto, Wis., Greg (DeLores) Kreisler, Sun Prairie, Wis.; one son-in-law, Dan Engel, Pewaukee, Wis., many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Rochelle Engel. Visitation will be Sunday, June 27, 2010, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. The memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. Rev. Douglas Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona.
