Crystal Falls: Joyce Erickson, 80, of Crystal Fall Michigan, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, Michigan. Joyce was born November 30, 1922, in Ironton, Minnesota, daughter of the late August and Hilma (Crooks) Norlind. She married James Sheldon Erickson October 11, 1946, in Crosby, Minnesota. They moved to the Crystal Falls area in 1963. James preceded her in death on September 8, 1986. Joyce was a member of the United Lutheran Church of Crystal Falls, and the American Bowling Congress. She enjoyed many hobbies including bowling, fishing, camping, and the Green Bay Packers, (not the Vikings). Joyce is survived by three sons, James Erickson Jr., and Gary (June) Erickson of Crystal Falls, Michigan, Alan (Monica) Erickson of Kingsford, Michigan, one daughter Patricia (George) Schmidt, of Bates, Michigan, five grandchildren, Billie Jo (Tim) Waite, Blair and Jason Anderson, Elyse and Micah Erickson, and also many friends, especially among the Staff of Iron County Medical Care Facility. Besides her parents and husband, Joyce was preceded in death by two brothers, Roland and Ray Norlind. Visitation will be Friday, April 4, 2003, from 6 - 8 P.M. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home in Crystal Falls, Michigan. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 5, 2003, at 11:00 A.M. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home in Crystal Falls, Michigan. Pastor Doug Johnson will officiate at the service.
