Iron Mountain: Josephine "Josie" Cahee, 85, of Kingsford, died Wednesday, February 18, 2004, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara, Wisconsin. Josephine was born August 28, 1918, in Garden, Michigan, daughter of the late James and Roseanna (Thibeault) Clement. She married Edward Louis Cahee and he preceded her in death on September 24, 1990. Josie worked at the VA Hospital in Iron Mountain for twenty-eight years. She was the first female supervisor. She managed the laundry. She was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church of Kingsford, and the Ladies Guild. She loved to dance, hunt, and fish. Survivors include two daughters; Marilyn Y. (Byron) Clement of Pawtucket, RI, Shira M. (Paul Kaylor) Painter of Alpha, MI, three sons; Jerry L.(Susan) Cahee of Manville, RI, Paul E.(Linda) Cahee of Iron Mountain, and Dan L. (Nancy Houston) Cahee of Kingsford, thirty-one grandchildren, fifty-three great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and one sister Jerita Groleau of St. Jacques, MI. Two Half sisters and three half brothers. Besides her parents and husband, Edward, she was preceded in death by a son James Cahee, and fourteen brothers and sisters. Visitation will be Friday, from 4 – 7P.M at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain, with prayers at 5 P.M at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held Saturday, 9:30 – 10:30A.M. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, with prayers at 10:30A.M. at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, 11:00A.M. at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Father Joseph Gouin will officiate. Burial will be in Dickinson County Memorial Gardens.
