Joseph D. Suheski, age 81, of Crystal Falls, died Sunday, September 18, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield, Wis. He was born October 20, 1923 in Crystal Falls, son of the late Michael and Mary (Czupa) Suheski. On May 6, 1950 he married Doris Johnson in Crystal Falls. She survives. Joe was a truck driver for many years with Kania Brothers, Luke and Carlson, and Smeester Trucking. He also worked as manager for the A&P Grocery for many years. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army in the Asiatic - Pacific Theater and was a member of the Alpha-Mastodon Post No. 7569 Veterans of Foreign Wars, where he was Quarter Master and Service Officer. Joe was a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), the Alpha Senior Center and was a foster parent for many years. Survivors include his wife, Doris Suheski, Crystal Falls; two sons, Michael (Cindy) Suheski, Spread Eagle, Wis., Matthew (Andrea) Suheski, Buck Lake; one daughter, Dotty Ulbing, Milwaukee, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Jackie, Brad, Derrick, Dana, Nicholas, Craig, Shawn; two great grandchildren, Hailiegh, and Bianca; one sister-in-law, Almilda Suheski, Crystal Falls; special niece and nephew, John and Jean Skovera; other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Paul Joseph Suheski, three brothers, John Suheski, Frank Suheski, Walter Suheski; six sisters, Catherine Peart, Ann Skovera, Sophie Skovera, Margaret Suheski, Frances Baciak and Rose Erickson. He will be sadly missed by his family as a loving husband, father and grandfather. The Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2005 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls. Rev. Dino Silvestrini will preside. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls with military rites being performed by the East Side Veterans. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the time of services at the church. The Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls is in charge of arrangements.
