Iron Mountain: Joseph P. Sacchetti Jr.age 66 of 1410 West A Street in Iron Mountain died Friday April 18, 2003 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
Joe was born on October 26, 1936 in Iron Mountain, Michigan son of Joseph and Bernice (Pelletier) Sacchetti Sr.
Joe attended Iron Mountain High School and graduated in 1954. Joe served in the U.S. Marines from 1951 until he was honorable discharged in 1957. While in the service Joe served during the Korean Conflict. Joe married Kathleen Deldin on July 5, 1958 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Iron Mountain. After being married he went on to attend Northern Michigan University where he received a Masters Degree in Vocational Education and Sociology. Joe went on to teach school in Munising for one year before taking a position at Norway Vulcan area schools where he taught for 27yrs before retiring. Joe later took a position as a Realtor for Century 21 where he worked from 1988 until 2000. Joe was a member of St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Joe enjoyed many hobbies including; hunting, fishing, camping, reading and he was an avid sports fan attending many local events. He served as a council member for the City of Iron Mountain for many years. He also served as Fast Pitch Softball Coordinator and Coach for the local Softball League for over 20yrs. Joe dearly loved his family and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 44yrs Kathleen. Two sons John Sacchetti of Iron Mountain, MI., Anthony (Lori) Sacchetti of Hastings, MI., Two daughters, Jodi (Jim) Blichmann of Munising, MI., Mary Sacchetti of Brooklyn Center, MN., his mother Bernice Pellitier of Iron Mountain, MI. One sister Betty Jean (Dave) McDowell of Kingsford, MI., Five grandchildren, Jennifer (Dustin) Moote of Copperas Cove, TX., Justine Blichmann and Jeff Blichmann both of Munising, MI., Anna Sacchetti and Michael Sacchetti both of Hastings, MI.. Two aunts, Mary Coombs of Iron Mountain, MI., and Marguerite Sculati of Maryland. One uncle Neil "Bruce" Pellitier of Kingsford, MI. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins

Visitation will be Tuesday April 22, 2003 from 4-8PM at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Prayers will be recited Tuesday 7PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Wednesday April 23, 2003, 8:30AM at the Jacobs Funeral Home with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow Wednesday, 9AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Fr. Dan Zaloga will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park.
Pallbearers will be John, Louis and Joseph Deldin, Neil Pellitier, John Secinaro, and Dave McDowell
