Joseph Robert "Bob" Rochon, 90, a lifetime resident of Iron Mountain, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.
Bob served in the army during World War II, and in 1946, established the Rochon Funeral Home in Iron Mountain where he served the community until his retirement. He was a member of the Bishop Baraga Council No. 1585 Knights of Columbus in Iron Mountain/Kingsford, the American Legion Uren-Cooper-Johnson Post No. 50, and St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen "Kay"; daughters, Mary (Carl) Plath, Jane (Pat) Hyla; one son, Tom (Debby) Rochon; along with 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be Saturday, September 8, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 8, at the funeral home. Rev. Raymond Valerio will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to St. Jude's Hospital or Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children.
