Joseph R. Hurt, Jr., 66, Crystal Falls, died Sunday July, 22, 2007, at the Iron County Community Hospital, Iron River. He was born November 7, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Joseph R. and Anna (Pojak) Hurt. On May 26, 1962, in Berwyn, Illinois he married Beverly Jorkin. She survives. Joseph was a retired millright with Reynolds Aluminum. He was an avid fisherman and belonged to several sport fishing associations including the Wilmington Recreation Club. Survivors include, his wife, Beverly Hurt, Crystal Falls; one son, Robert (Laurie) Hurt, West Plains, Mo., two daughters, Merrie (Larry) Zastresek, Joliet, Ill., Janet (Joe) Plumley, Thebes, Ill., seven grandchildren, and one brother, James (Joan) Hurt, Maplewood, Minn. Memorial services will be private. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls. The Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls, is serving the family.
