Iron River-Joseph Hoffman, 63, of Iron River, Mich., passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Ministry St. Mary Hospital, Rhinelander, Wis. He was born March 18, 1954 in Chicago, Ill., son of the late Bernard and Inez (Nacoli) Hoffman. Joseph spent his first 14 years of life in Chicago before moving with his parents to Crystal Falls where he lived for the next 35 years. Most recently he resided in Iron River. Joseph enjoyed taking walks, eating out, rides to the lake and being outdoors. He was a gentle soul and had a close relationship with God. Survivors include one brother, Richard (Patricia) Hoffman, Marquette, Mich.; one sister, Sheila (Gary) Smith, Joliet, Ill.; two nieces, Devone and Katlyn and by two nephews, Alexander and Jay. In addition to his parents, Joseph, was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Hoffman. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, April 21, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls. Rev. Fr. Dan Malone will officiate.
