Joseph Chervo, 87, Crystal Falls, passed away Monday, June 23, 2008, at Iron County Community Hospital, Iron River. He was born June 16, 1921, in Crystal Falls, son of the late Emilio and Madalena (Carlotto) Chervo. Joe was a woodsman who enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors. He passed this appreciation and enjoyment of nature on to his nieces and nephews. Joe was also an accomplished guitarist and loved music. His family will forever cherish his memory. Survivors include his sister, Gloria Chervo, Crystal Falls, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ernest, Peter, Tony and John Chervo, and three sisters, Catherine Fatturi, Mary Schmidt and Inez Paulsen. Visitation will be Friday, June 27, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of mass at the church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls. Rev. Norm Clisch will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
