Joseph Francis Brouillette, 41, died after a long and courageous fight with cancer on Friday, September 20, 2002 at his home in Iron Mountain.
Joe, beloved son of Francis and Pauline (Andreini) Brouillette, was born on October 12, 1960. He attended Dickinson Area Catholic School and graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1978 where he was active in football and wrestling. Joe attended Marquette University and graduated from the University of Colorado. He lived and worked in Denver before returning to Iron Mountain.
Joe is survived by his parents Francis and Pauline Brouillette of Iron Mountain, his four sisters and their families: Mary (Kevin) Barglind and daughters Julia, Katie, and Michelle; Ann (Keith Hammond) Brouillette and daughter Alexandria; Lisa (Ted Berry) Brouillette and son Glenn; and Kay (Chad) Sodini and children Taylor and Joseph. He also leaves his aunts and uncles, Jim and Bernie Blomquist, Larry Andreini, Eva and Lane LaFleur, Jerry and Agnes Rittenhouse and numerous cousins and special friends. Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Beatrice Andreini and William and Julia Brouillette.
The "best of times" were spent in the summer growing up with his sisters and cousins at their cottage on Lake Elwood, skiing in the mountains of Colorado, and hunting. Those who knew Joe can attest to his enthusiasm and free-loving spirit no matter what the activity. The most important things in Joe's life were his family, friends, and his faith which helped him find the courage to face each day. Joe brought joy to all who knew him. Joe's faith was inspirational and his heroism unsurpassed.
