Iron Mountain: John T. Strutz Jr., age 58, of Merriman, passed away Saturday, May 27 2006, at Dickinson County Healthcare System in Iron Mountain. He was born October 18, 1947, in Iron Mountain, Mich., son of John and Elsie (Peterson) Strutz. On December 20, 1969, he married Ann Pouliot, in Aurora, Wis. He attended Kingsford Schools and graduated in 1965. He joined the U. S. Air Force. John and Ann lived in Aurora for awhile then moved to Merriman in 1974. He worked for Grede Foundry from 1970 - 1993. He then went to work for Stora Enso in 1993 until the present. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, working around the yard and helping others. Survivors include his wife Ann; mother Elsie Strutz, Merriman; three sons, Shane (Lisa) Strutz, Columbia, Maryland, Chad (Lisa) Strutz, Kingsford, Clint (Heidi) Strutz, Iron Mountain; four brothers, Bruce (Cindy) Strutz, Merriman, Gary Strutz, Milwaukee, Wis., Jim (Gayle) Strutz, Quinnesec, Terry (Laura) Strutz, Green Bay, Wis; three sisters, Judy (Lawrence) Tappy, Merriman, Karyn (Jack) Carlson, Sagola Twp., Charlene (Dennis) Liebergen, Niagara; six grandchildren, Amber, Sierra, Jacob, Caleb, Hannah, Emma, and numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his father John Strutz. There will be no visitation or funeral services per John's request.
