Florence: John B. Oravec, age 78, of Florence, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iron Mountain, Michigan. He was born October 21, 1925, in West Allis, Wisconsin, the son of the late John and Emily (Pavlik) Oravec. He attended West Allis Schools. He married Elaine Kocha on October 11, 1947 in West Allis. They resided in West Allis until 1990, when they moved to Florence. He was employed at Mayfair Chrysler in Milwaukee for many years where he was a car painter. John was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Florence, Wisconsin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood carving and power carving. John is survived by his wife Elaine, two sons; Thomas of Milwaukee and Scott of West Allis, Wisconsin and one daughter Linda Oravec of Milwaukee, WI. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Karen Oravec in 1969. Visitation will be Thursday, April 15, from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home of Florence and Friday from 10:30 - 11:00a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Florence. Funeral services will be at 11:00a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Florence. Pastor Andrew Schwartz will officiate. Burial will be Monday 1PM at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin, Wisconsin.
