John D. Hronkin, 62, of Crystal Falls, passed away Friday, October 28, 2011, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain. He was born December 30, 1948, in Salem, Ore., son of the late John J. and Marcella (Zaranka) Hronkin. John spent a few years in Salem, and at a young age moved to Crystal Falls with his family. John is survived by one uncle, George Hronkin, Crystal Falls; two cousins, Nancy (John) Force, Crystal Falls, George (Sally) Hronkin, Jr., Alaska and Crystal Falls; one brother-in-law, Martin Gittins, Crystal Falls; one nephew, Matthew (Carolyn) Gittins, Wauwatosa, Wis.; and one niece, Stephanie (Doug) Kennedy, Ann Arbor, Mich. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Marcella Gittins on December 2, 2010. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 2, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Rev. Jeffrey Kurtz will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
