Iron Mountain: John "Jack" E. Feira age 73 of Iron Mountain passed away Friday July 22, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
Jack was born on May 29, 1932 in Iron Mountain son of the late Peter "Spin" and Aila (Maki) Feira. Jack grew up in Iron Mountain and graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1950. In 1951 Jack entered the U.S. Navy where he was based on the USS Saipan Aircraft Carrier. After receiving an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, he went on to attend Michigan Technological University in Houghton where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Jack married Alice O'Hearon on August 9, 1958 at St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic church in Iron Mountain. They resided for eleven and a half years in Hibbing, Minnesota until moving back to Iron Mountain in 1972. Jack worked for Cummins Great Lakes for 43 years retiring in 2000.
Jack was an active member of the Pine Grove Country Club for over 30 years, Paisano Club and was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity serving on the board. Jack enjoyed many hobbies including, entertaining family and friends at Camp Lagna, cooking many awesome Italian meals, deer hunting, golfing with his Paisano's, the Green Bay Packers and most of all his family, friends and especially his grandchildren who will deeply miss him.
Jack is survived by his wife Alice and two sons, Michael (Lori) Feira of Kingsford and their children Amy and Kevin, and Steve (Denise) Feira of Iron Mountain and their children Cassie and Tony. A sister Patt Bednarz of Iron Mountain and a brother Peter (Marlene) Feira of Green Bay, Wisconsin. He is also survived by his uncle Clement (Eva) Feira of Iron Mountain and sister in law Inge O'Hearon of Cape Coral, Florida. There are also many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8pm at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Prayers will be recited Wednesday 9:30am at the Jacobs Funeral Home, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow 10am at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr. Ray Valerio will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
Pallbearers will be, Phil Crispigna, William Olivanti, Armidor Colavecchi, Donald Baravetto, John Raffin and Paul Jacobs.
