Obituary

Niagara: John "Jack" Chartier, 74, of Niagara, WI, died Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He was born January 9, 1931, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Orvile and Josephine Chartier. On April 25, 1953, he married Marlene Bovee. She survives. Jack loved his family and was always there to help whenever they needed him. He also loved the years he served at the Papermakers Union as vice-president. Jack was instrumental in getting the profit sharing and 401K program going. He was on the Pension committee and helped his fellow workers with their pension plans and their families when the worker died. Jack's sons, son-in-law and grandsons have very happy memories of the times they spent at hunting camp. He had a great expertise in the stock market and enjoyed talking about his "hot" stocks with his friends. He also enjoyed going to Florida in the winter and all the great friends he has down there. Survivors include his wife Marlene, his sons Steve (Gayle) Chartier, Scott Chartier; a daughter Renee (Dean) Recla; eight grandchildren Jon, Steve, Shawn, Shane and Nick Chartier, Brent (Nikki), Robbie and Adam Recall; brother Robert (Bevy) Chartier; brothers-in-law Jan (Anita) Bovee, Gary Bovee; sister-in-law Carolyn (Ralph) Reimer; several nieces and nephews; and four great –grandchildren all of which were the joy of his life. Besides his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his father-in-law Harold Bovee and mother-in-law Florence. Everyone loved his sense of humor and he will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, September 26, 2005, at 6:00p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Niagara. Father Michael Betley will officiate.
