John Blochaniec, 85, Crystal Falls resident for the past two years, formerly of Milwaukee, Wis., passed away Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Iron County Community Hospital, Iron River. He was born August 5, 1922, in Crystal Falls, son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Franz) Blochaniec. On November 5, 1949, he married the former Lorraine Nowikowski. She preceded him in death on March 19, 1978. John was a veteran of WW II having served in the U.S. Army. He retired after 32 years with Graf's Beverages, Milwaukee. Survivors include his niece, Mary Lou (Robert) Derengowski, Crystal Falls, other nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, three sisters and a nephew, Robert Nealis in 2007.
