John T. Benedetto, 59, of Green Bay, Wisc., passed away with his loving family by his side after a year-long battle with cancer on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

John was born on March 10, 1967, in Nyack, New York, to Thomas and Patricia (Hickey) Benedetto. He grew up in New York and moved to Green Bay as a young adult. John married Michelle “Missy” Verhagen on May 19, 1996, in Green Bay. He worked in maintenance for over 20 years in the Green Bay area.

John enjoyed going to his cabin in Fence, hunting and fishing, all sports, and was a huge Miami Dolphins fan. Spending time at his cabin was his favorite, especially riding the 4-wheeler with Liam.

Survivors include his wife, Missy Benedetto, their daughter, Alicia (Jeff) Leiterman of Denmark, WI.; grandson, Liam; father, Thomas (Celine) Benedetto of St. Augustine, FL., sisters, Kim (Kevin) O’Sullivan, Valley Cottage, NY, Brianne (Ryan) Bowen, Charlottesville, VA, Lyndsay Benedetto, St. Augustine, FL, and Shannon Benedetto, Raleigh, NC.; and by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and many friends.

John was preceded in death by his mom, Patricia Bendetto, and his grandparents, Thomas and Bertha Hickey, and John and Dorothy Benedetto.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.
