Florence – Joanne M. Taff, 90, of Florence, WI, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, MI.
She was born on November 11, 1935, in Florence, WI, to the late Herbert R. and Phyliss (McCraw) Tennermann. She was a graduate of Florence High School, class of 1953.
She married Billy Taff on May 28, 1955, he preceded her death on December 10, 2015. She worked for over twenty-five years as an Administrative Assistant for the Florence County School District.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Bruce) Carlson of Oshkosh, WI, Connie (Keith) Davis and Carol Taff of Waupaca, WI, Nancy Zink of Battle Ground, WA, and Brenda (Ron) Harkleroad of Reno, NV; grandchildren, Dr. Heather (Spike) Carpenter, DDS, Holly (Keegan Wilber) Carlson, Billy Joe (Lucy) Carlson, Spencer (Shelby) Davis, Lance Davis, Galen Zink, and Hunter Harkleroad; great-grandchildren, Henry Carpenter, Hazel Carpenter, Charlotte Carpenter, Briggs Wilber, Mason Wilber, Rhett Salbego, and Willa Salbego; sister, Mary Jane Kilnes, and numerous nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, and husband of sixty years, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Molly Zink; infant grandson, Issac Zink; brother and sister-in-law, Herbert E. (Patricia) Tennermann; and sisters and brothers-in-laws, Susan (Richard) Steber, and Jacqueline (Robert) White; and brother-in-law, John Kilnes.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Florence, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, at the Church with Fr. Soja Joseph officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at St. Mary's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to either the Florence County School District or to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Joanne's memory.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Iron County Medical Care Facility for the exceptional care given to Joanne.
