Iron Mountain-Joanne M. Mills, 81, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Freeman Nursing & Rehab, Kingsford, Mich.

She was born April 6, 1936, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Anthony and Fannie (Perla) Gianunzio. Joanne grew up in Iron Mountain and was a graduate of Iron Mountain High School, Class of 1956. She was united in marriage to Edward Mills on June 2, 1973 in Iron Mountain. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2011. Following marriage, they resided in Aurora, Wis. on the Mill's family farm before moving to Iron Mountain in 1976.

Survivors include her daughter, Janice Mills, of Iron Mountain; one brother, Gerald (Carolyn) Gianunzio, Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich., and by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ed, Joanne was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Winters.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Ray Valerio will officiate. Burial will take place in Quinnesec Cemetery.
