Joan Frances Osterberg, 84 , of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain. She was born September 20, 1927, in Kimberly, Wis., daughter of the late John and Bertha (Gruen) Weyenberg. Joan grew up in Kimberly and graduated from Kimberly High School. She married Don Froze on September 4, 1948 at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Kimberly. Joan later met Don Osterberg in Iron Mountain and on April 24, 1996, they were married in Portsmouth, Va. Joan worked as a nurse's aide for Maryhill Manor before working for Hyland Nursing Home where she retired. Joan belonged to the GFWC Women's Club and loved golfing, fishing, gardening, being outdoors, doing puzzles and crafting. She is survived by her husband, Don Osterberg; three sons, John (Lisa) Froze, Portsmouth, Va., Jeff Froze, Milwaukee, Wis., Joel Froze, Niagara, Wis.; one daughter Barbara (Alex) Rodrigues, Manistique, Mich.; seven grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death one brother, Jack Weyenberg and one sister, Janice Olive and one granddaughter, Raquel Lundgren Rodrigues. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 21, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. Msgr.
