Crystal Falls: Jerry J. Kenney, age 69, of Cicero, IL. formerly of Amasa, MI, died Wednesday June 15, 2005 at the Mac Neal Hospital in Berwyn, IL. He was born March 1, 1936 in Amasa, Mich., son of the late Marino and Josephine (LaBardi) Kenney. He married the former Jacquelyn Gorman and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 16, 2005. She survives. Jerry worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator. He attended school and spent his early years in Amasa. His adult life was spent in Cicero where he enjoyed watching the horses run at the track and going to the Steak-N-Egger Restaurant where he would have coffee, meet friends and solve the problems of the world. Jerry enjoyed sports but his greatest joy was his family and most especially his grandsons, they were his life. He was well liked by all. Survivors include his wife Jacquelyn Kenney, Cicero, IL; a daughter Cindy (Terry) Carr; three grandsons, Allan, Terry, Jeremy; two brothers, Emil (Hulda) Kenney, David (Sue) Kenny; one sister, Annette Danielson; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Kenney and Anita Stockholm; nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, other relatives and friends. He was fond of each and all of them. The world will be an empty place without him. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leo and Robert Kenney one sister Frances Jacobinski and two brothers-in-law, Paul Jacobinski and Lawrence Danielson Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. Rev. Fr. Dino Silvestrini will officiate. Burial will be in the Amasa Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
