Obituary

Jeffrey F. Zambon, Sr., 46, passed away Monday, December 6, 1993, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on November 25, 1993. He was born in Norway, Mich., on July 9, 1947, to the late Frank and Leah (Marlow) Zambon. Jeff graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1967. He married Phyllis (Menza) Zambon on April 12, 1969 at St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. He was a member of the Local Painters Union at the time of his death. Jeff was a life long member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was very active in local politics serving two terms on the Iron Mountain City Council. Jeff was also a County Board Commissioner for 4 1/2 years, where he served on various boards and committees. He was a member of Michigan Association of Counties and Honorary member of VFW. Jeff enjoyed all outdoor activities, but most of all he enjoyed helping when help was needed to anyone who asked. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; one son, Jeffrey II and one daughter, Alison Marie both of Iron Mountain; four sisters, Sandra (Jack) Brennen, Green Bay, Wis., Frances (Warren) Dean, Baltimore, Md., Barbara (David) Wescher, West Bend, Wis., Beverly (Tom) VanHenry, Green Bay; one brother, Ernie Zambon, Iron Mountain; aunts, Olive Kososki, Kingsford, Mich., Lindy Zambon, Iron Mountain; uncle, David (Lorraine) Marlow, Iron Mountain. Jeff is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, along with many friends. The visitation will be Wednesday, December 8, 1993 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:40 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, December 8, 1993 at 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
