Iron Mountain- Jean C. Pike, 70, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Maryhill Manor Nursing Home, Niagara, Wis She was born on June 1, 1951 in Iron Mountain, Mich., daughter of the late Julian and Edith (Hurlburt) Fugere. Jean graduated from Kingsford High School and went on to receive her undergraduate degree at Northern Michigan University. At the University of Illinois in Chicago, she received her Master's Degree in teaching and served as an English teacher for many years before retiring. Hobbies include birdwatching, swimming, and counseling. Jean was a voracious reader, who especially enjoyed the works of Kurt Vonnegut Jr. and Tom Robbins. Survivors include her son, Julian Pike; and two brothers, Jim Walker and Joe Fugere. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Osterman. A private Memorial Mass will be held in Jean's honor.
