Florence- Janet Calderone, 77, of Florence, Wisc., passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center, De Pere, Wisc.

She was born May 30, 1945, in Detroit, Mich., daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Dreary) Hermanau.

Janet grew up in Detroit, Mich., and graduated from Edwin Denby High School, class of 1964. During her life, she worked as a bookkeeper for Borg/Warner Company and as a key punch operator for Chrysler. She moved to Florence, Wisc., in 1985, where she lived and worked for a number of years before moving to Mackinaw City, Michigan in 2003. While living in Mackinaw City, she worked part-time at a local gas station, where she enjoyed being able to meet everyone. After retirement, she moved back to Florence in 2013.

She was a loving grandmother, who never missed an opportunity to be at sporting events cheering on her grandson, Joshua. Her family remembers how much she loved to cook and that she had the best sauce and meatballs. She was known for sharing her homemade zucchini bread with everyone.

Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Johnson (James Hixon); grandson, Joshua Johnson; granddaughter, Courtney Johnson (Brad Joseph); and sister, Diane Brandt.
