Jane Marie Zeleznik, 76, of Amasa, passed away Saturday evening, January 21, 2012, at Northstar Health System hospital in Iron River. She was born July 10, 1935, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Alex and Emerald (Miller) Challancin. On August 2, 1969, she married John Zeleznik at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls. He preceded her in death on June 21, 2010. Jane graduated from Crystal Falls High School, Class of 1953, and worked in Cleveland, Ohio, and Marquette, Michigan. She later returned to Crystal Falls and worked for over 15 years as a secretary/bookkeeper at Flood Supply. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Amasa and the Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls. She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Fred) Watts, Menomonie, Wis.; one granddaughter, Emily Jane Watts; several nephews and nieces. Besides her parents and husband, Jane was preceded in death by one brother, Robert (Mary) Challancin, of Felch, Mich. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 25, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at Hematite Township Cemetery, Amasa. Rev. Jeffrey Kurtz will officiate.
