James M. Swanson, 61, Crystal Falls, passed away Monday, February 16, 2009, at Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls. He was born April 19, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Herbert and Mary (Bartell) Swanson. He married Carol Biondo and she survives. Jim was a high rise construction worker in Chicago and a member of the Carpenters Union Local No. 10. He was an avid sportsman enjoying fishing, camping, boating and snowmobiling. Survivors include, his wife, Carol Swanson; one son, Tom (Joann) Swanson, all of Crystal Falls; one brother, Tom (Margaret) Swanson, Schereville, Ind.; one sister, Karen Banis, Star City, Ind.; two grandchildren, James and Kristina Swanson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
