James H. Shields, 85, of Armstrong Creek, Wis., passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 09, 2011, at the Golden Living Center, Florence.
He was born August 6, 1925, in Laona, Wis. James grew up in Laona. He served in the United States Air Force until he was honorably discharged. Upon returning from service, James resided in the Green Bay area for many years before moving to Armstrong Creek where he resided for over thirty years.
James owned and operated J&S Electric of Armstrong where he was a Master Electrician. He operated his business for many years. He will also be remembered as the attendant at the Armstrong Creek Refuge Center where he had enjoyed seeing everyone each week.
He enjoyed the outdoors and everything nature had to offer. James loved hunting and will always be remembered as a wonderful man who enjoyed telling jokes, was proud of his Polish/Irish heritage, and his countless hours that he donated to many community activities.
James leaves behind his daughter, Betty Davis of Flora, Illinois.
He will be buried at the Armstrong Creek Cemetery in the spring.
