James J. Parent, 83, of Iron Mountain, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Freeman Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Kingsford. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary; seven sons, Jim (Jackie) Parent, Munising, Bob Parent, Steve (Cindy) Parent, David (Lynn) Parent, all of Green Bay, Wis., Tom (Judy) Parent and Brian (Jeanette) Parent, both of Niagara, Wis., Bruce (Anne) Parent, Crown Pointe, Ind.; one brother, Gary (Linda) Parent, Marquette; one sister, Joyce Barbiere, Marquette; 18 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. James was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lenore (Specker) Parent and two sons, Donald and Todd Parent; and one grandson, Timmy Parent. The visitation will be held Thursday, January 3, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the church. Rev. Matt Settle will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Marquette, in the spring.
