Marquette- James A. Michaud, 80, of Marquette, Mich., passed away Monday, October 26, 2020 at his home.

He was born November 12, 1939, in Iron Mountain, Mich., son of the late James J. and Vernamae (Todish) Michaud. James was a graduate of Burns High School, Burns, Oregon. On February 5, 1990 he was united in marriage to Kathleen Peace in Wixom, Mich. James was a member of the Operating Engineers #324. Upon retirement, James returned to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

He loved fast vehicles, fishing, hunting, and visits with his family. He especially loved cooking for anyone that came to visit and earned the name Chef Dad. He enjoyed feeding and watching the hummingbirds and wildlife that regularly stopped by year after year.

Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Kathleen Michaud; children Michael (Tamie) Michaud, Lara (Michael) Clisch, Erik (Hualing) Michaud, Kelly Michaud (Jeff Bizeau), Jimmy Smith, Debby DeGuire, Becky (Wayne) Fails, Angela (Chris) Zernick; siblings, Joan (Steven) LeClair and John (Bonnie) Michaud;
17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by one sister, Tootie Enquist.

Friends and family will gather at the American Legion Post #114, 3050 County Road 496, Ishpeming, MI 49849 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, June 4, 2022.
