James A. Hagen, 78, of Tipler, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau, Wis.
He was born September 23, 1936, in Milwaukee, Wis. son of the late Earl and Ethel (O'Brien) Hagen.
Jim grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Solomon-Juneau High School, Class of 1956. He married Darleen Thiede on July 28, 1956, in Milwaukee. Jim worked for Gateway Transportation, in Milwaukee, for twenty nine years. In 1983, he and Darleen relocated to Tipler, where he owned and operated the Wilderness II Bar, for ten years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working his excavating business, on the side.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, of 59 years, Darleen; two daughters, Cathy Hagen and Linda (Charles) Nichols, both of Tipler; one brother, Richard Hagen, New Berlin, Wis.; two grandchildren, Charles Nichols, Florence, Wis. and Nicholas Nichols, Rhinelander, Wis. and one great-granddaughter, Brandi Nichols, Florence.
In accordance with Jim's wishes private family services were held.
