Jack W. Nunn, age 74, of Crystal Falls, died Monday, November 13, 2006, at Iron County Community Hospital, Iron River with his loving wife and children, Barbara and Robert, at his side. He was born January 23, 1932, in Ponsford, Minn. son of the late James and Lila (Salo) Nunn. On July 10, 1981, in Marquette he married Loretta Hockings. She survives. Jack was a career military man having served in the U.S. Army in Korea and Vietnam. He retired with the rank of Sergeant Major. Jack and Loretta celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on July 10, 2006. They enjoyed traveling with the Winnebago Itasca Travelers Club for many years. Jack was a Life Member of the Tufts-Rondon Post No. 2891 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Louis Bowman Post No. 87, Crystal Falls. He was also a member of the Crystal Falls-Iron River Masonic Lodge No. 385 (F & A M). Survivors include his wife, Loretta Nunn; children, Mark (Patty) Nunn, Robert (Debra) Hockings, Barbara (Mike) Doher, Susan Hockings; grandchildren, Bonnie (Tom) Keefe, Robert W. Hockings, Sarah Hockings, Katrina Carter, Anthony Carter, great-grandchildren, Henry, Mallory and Isabella Keefe; brothers, Richard (Jane) Nunn, Pete (Georgia) Nunn, Grant Nunn; sisters, Patricia (Donald) Nevala, Pamela Nunn; and his loyal Yorkie, Sammi, who was faithfully at his side during his illness. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Lois Nunn. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
