Crystal Falls-Isabelle M. Oien, age 102, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Monday, September 24, 2018, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, Mich.

She was born September 9, 1916, in Gwinn, Mich., daughter of the late Corell and Burnidette (Fountain) Pepin. Isabelle grew up in Gwinn and was a graduate of Gwinn High School. On December 15, 1945, she was united in marriage to Russell G. Oien in Gwinn, Mich. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2007. Isabelle was a resident of Republic and had moved to Crystal Falls in 1969.

Isabelle was a homemaker, member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church and had volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul. She enjoyed playing cards, bridge, cribbage, and smear. Isabelle enjoyed bowling in her younger years, fishing while at the cabin on the lake, and especially the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Peggy (Robert) Lahtela, Republic, Mich. and Ginny (David) Neuman, Hazelhurst, Wis.; four grandchildren, Beth Lahtela, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Brian (Grace) Lahtela, Green Bay, Wis., Heather (Abram) Becker, Madison, Wis. and Kevin (Elizabeth) Neuman, Stevens Point, Wis.; and by eight great-grandchildren, Dylan, Paige, Taylor, Reid, Althea, Gus, Cole and Cayden.

In addition to her parents and husband, Russell, Isabelle was preceded in death by two brothers, Craell and Leroy.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 28, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls, Wis. The Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, at 11:00 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls, Mich. Rev. Fr. Dan Malone will officiate. Burial will take place in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
