Irving M. Hackeman, 87, of Republic, Mich., passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Maryhill Manor, Niagara, Wis.
He was born April 21, 1922, in Mansfield Twsp., Mich., son of the late Albert and Marie (Sommers) Hackeman. Irving married the former Dolores Heydens on September 3, 1979, in Midland, Mich.; she survives. They lived in Norway, Mich. before moving to the family farm in Republic, in 1983.
Irving worked at People's Supermarket for several years as a delivery person and later worked on the family farm raising beef cattle. He was a member of VFW Grant-Nyman Post No. 5014, Republic, the Sons of the Civil War, Bridgeman, Mich., and the Norway Baptist Church, Norway, Mich. Irving enjoyed feeding and watching deer.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores Hackeman; many nieces and nephews.
Irving was preceded in death by five brothers, Louis, Clarence, Arthur, Herbert, and Carol Hackeman; two sisters, Ada Styberski and Pearl Gorske.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 13, 2010, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. e.s.t. at the Witch Lake Baptist Church, Republic. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. e.s.t. Tuesday, at the church. Pastor Andy Filizetti will officiate. Burial will be in Republic Cemetery. VFW Grant-Nyman Post No. 5014, will accord graveside military honors.
