Irene Meress, 102, of Florence, Wis., passed away Monday, April 11, 2011, at Golden Living Center, Florence. She was born on August 30, 1908, in Florence, daughter of the late Tony and Esther (DeSantis) Dreary. Irene was a lifelong resident of Florence. She married Albert Meress on June 9, 1927, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Florence. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1995. They lived in Detroit, Mich., from 1928 until 974, when they moved back to Commonwealth. Irene was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She lived 102 enjoyable years and loved visiting with her family and many friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by one son, Albert Meress, Florence; one sister-in-law, Lillian Dreary, Detroit; numerous nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded by her parents and one brother, Ernest Deary; four sisters, Rose Hermenau, Alice Henning, Emily Vennery, Mary Lindstrom. A private family graveside service will be held at St. Mary Cemetery, Florence.
