Irena Kuchar, 65, of Florence, Wis., passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain, Mich.
She was born on October 10, 1946, in Hanover, Germany daughter of the late Stefan and Roslia (Pron) Kuchar. Irena came to the United States at the age of three. She resided in Chicago, Ill., until 1983, at which time she moved to Iron River, Mich., before settling in Florence in 2005.
Irena enjoyed being on her computer, surfing the internet and cooking, especially making Perogis.
She is survived by her companion of over 20 years, Herman Schuls, Florence; two sons, Johnny Hatelak, Hebron, Ill., and Danny (Heather) Splitt, Iron River; one brother, Roman Kuchar, Wonder Lake, Ill.; five grandchildren, Eden, Elysia, Izaya, Katrina and Izabella; two nieces, Lisa and Corrie; three nephews, David, Brian and Michael.
In addition to her parents, Irena was preceded in death by one brother, Wally Kuchar.
