Obituary

Inga Fleming, 81, of Florence passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Mary Hill Manor Nursing Home in Niagara. She was born April 29, 1932 in Hinsdale, Ill., to Einar and Christina (Shodeen) Carlson. She was one of five children. Inga grew up in Hinsdale, moved to Florence and then returned to Hinsdale. Inga graduated from Lakeview High School. She married John Fleming in 1951. They had six children. While living in Des Plaines, Ill., she was active at Trinity Lutheran Church, the Gutter Dusters bowling team, Sweet Adeline's Chapter – Country Chords and worked several years as a proof reader at the American Foundry men Society. In 1991, John and Inga retired to Florence. Inga was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, a Master Gardener, a member of Glacier Gardeners, an avid African violet gardener and a beloved friend with a gentle ear. She will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Einar and Christina Carlson; a sister, Karin Moffat (Carlson); and sons John and Don. She is survived by her husband, John; children, Bill (Deb) Fleming, Rick Fleming, Patricia (Chris) Rainey, and Jamie Fleming; sisters, Dorothy Carlson, Elsa Law; brother, Samuel Carlson; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Florence. The funeral services will be Friday, 11 a.m. at the church. Reverend Douglas Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Florence. Luncheon will be served at the church; following burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
