Obituary

Ida A. Harrington, 89, of Crystal Falls, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013, at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, Wis. She was born December 3, 1923, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Eugene and Emma Bartolini. Ida married Vernon Harrington on May 7, 1949, in Crystal Falls. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1986. Ida worked as a telephone operator for Michigan Bell for many years. She was a lifelong member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church and was a volunteer worker at St. Vincent DePaul. Ida was an active bowler, enjoyed her ladies coffee klatch group and most special to her was a love of playing board games with her grandchildren. She is survived by three sons, Tom Harrington, East Lansing, James (Mary) Harrington, Escanaba, William Harrington, Ishpeming; five daughters, MaryAnn Harrington, Diane (Gary) Hilberg, both of Crystal Falls, Patricia Harrington, Marquette, Linda (Karl) Anderson, Mercer, Wis., Kathleen "Kathy" (Kelly) Stankewicz, Crystal Falls; one brother, Guido Bartolini, Penn., and nine grandchildren, Erin (fiance' Jon Pleaugh), Kim (Scott) Bjork, Sandy Orlowski, Kati Anderson, Nick Harrington, Carly Orlowski, Max Anderson, Kevin Stankewicz and Maria Stankewicz. In addition to her parents and husband, Ida was preceded in death by one grandson Jerame Harrington, and two sisters, Dora Hemeleski and Gilda Bartolini. The visitation will be Thursday, February 28, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls. Rev. Jeffrey Kurtz will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
