Hester H. Rucinski, age 95, of Niagara, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara.
She was born November 11, 1909, in Foster City, MI, the daughter of the late John and Rose (Boda) Korten. She attended school in Foster City until they moved to Iron Mountain where she graduated from Iron Mountain High School. On August 29, 1928, she married Walter "Eddie" Rucinski at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Niagara; he preceded her in death in 1986. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic church and also a member of the Council of Catholic Women Hester was a seamstress and a great baker of breads and pies. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, photography, knitting, and crossword puzzles. She was very good at fixing things around the house. She was a very patient, kind person and will be missed by all her family.
Survivors include one son John (Lori) Rucinski of Niagara; six daughters Mary Ann "Mitzi" Ebidon, Lysle Rugg, Bonnie (Ronald) DeCremer, Special daughter and son in law, Ila and Robert Sparpana they were her constant companions of the last 18 years, all of Niagara, Claire (John) Berry of Dayton, Ohio, and Tanya (Dennis "Jake") Payette of Niagara, one brother Chauncey (Pat) Korten, son in law Roger Wescher fifty-three grandchildren, one hundred nineteen great grandchildren, twenty-two great great grandchildren, many step grand children, and her faithful dog Pixie
Besides her parents and husband Walter "Eddie", Hester was preceded in death by one son Robert, two daughters Patricia (Roger) Wescher, and Kay Coppens, two brothers John (Margaret) Korten and Ward (Lil) Korten, two sisters Jeanette Korten and Madge (Clem "Doc") Corcoran, and three grandchildren Ronald "Chip" DeCremer, Robert "Bobby John" Rucinski, Robert Andre Ebidon, and one great grandson Jonathan Unrein.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 2, 2005, from 10-11a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Niagara. The Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 11:00a.m. at the church. St. Anthony's Council of Catholic Women will offer a service of remembrance. Fr. Michael Betley will officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery.
