Niagara: Herbert E. Patterson, age 78, of Pembine, Wis., passed away Friday, November 04, 2005, at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford, Mich. He was born August 19, 1927, in Pembine, son of the late Christopher and Maude (Miller) Patterson. On August 24, 1948, he married Doris Brown at the Union Protestant Church parsonage in Niagara. She survives. He lived in Pembine until the age of five when he moved to Niagara where he attended school. He later graduated from Norway High School. Herbert served in the United States Army serving in Japan. They resided for over 50 years in the town of Niagara. Herbert worked at the Niagara Paper Mill for 42 years as a forklift operator. They moved to Pembine in December of 1999. Herbert enjoyed visiting and telling stories to family and friends. He was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church in Niagara. Survivors include his wife Doris, son Michael Patterson of Niagara, two daughters Ember (Rick) Rickaby of McAllister, Wis., Myrna (James) Malone of Hermansville, Mich., one brother Claude (Evelyn) Patterson of Niagara, six grandchildren Scott (Christine) Rickaby of Milwaukee, Wis., Ricky (Nicole) Rickaby of Green Bay, Benjamin (Lisa) Patterson of Florence, Wis., Desiree (John) Gray of Mount Horeb, Wis., Christopher Patterson of Green Bay, Sara (Jason) Walters of Hawaii, four great grandchildren Alec, Alastair, Connor and Austin, many step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, November 6, 2005, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home Niagara Chapel and Monday 10:00 – 11:00 a.m at Riverside United Methodist Church in Niagara. Funeral service will be Monday, November 7, 2005, 11:00a.m. at Riverside United Methodist Church. Pastor Pat Nolet will officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery.
