Henry J. "Hank" Kurzewski, 82, of Kingsford, Mich., passed away Saturday, May 19, 2007, at the Veterans Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Mich. Hank was born on April 27, 1925, in Ashland, Wis., son of the late Stephen and Beatrice (Wojak) Kurzewski. Hank married the former Lorraine Pattison on November 8,1952, in Greenland, Mich. He attended High School in Ontonagon and graduated from there in 1943. After graduating Henry went on to serve in the U.S. Navy on the USS MA Kassar Strait from 1943 until he was honorably discharged in 1946. Upon returning from the service, Hank went on to attend Ferris state University for 3 years. He, along with his wife Lorraine, eventually moved to Kingsford in 1952. Hank worked for Khoury Brothers Furniture for over 27 years as an Accountant, retiring in 1987. He was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church. Hank is survived by his wife Lorraine; one sister, Agnes (Gerald) Gervais, Portolo, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Hank was preceded in death by an infant brother, Stephen Patrick and brother Daniel; three sisters, Benamina Philleo, Dorothy Labyak and Rita Wagner. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 22, 2007, from 5:00p.m. until 6:30p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Prayers will be recited Wednesday, 9:30a.m. at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 10:00a.m. at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
