Obituary

Henry E. Ellingson, 88, of Pembine, Wis., passed away Friday, February 10, 2012, at Maryhill Manor, Niagara. Henry was born April 4, 1923, in Sun Prairie, Wis., son of the late Conrad and Jensina (Farness) Ellingson. He grew up in Sun Prairie. Henry married Erma Jean Lawrence on March 27, 1948, in Sun Prairie. They raised their family in DeForest, Wis., and in April of 1990, after retiring, they moved to Pembine. His strong work ethic enabled him to enjoy many different jobs including truck driving, before retiring from Demco Educational Corporation where he worked as the maintenance engineer. He enjoyed music, especially singing and playing the harmonica. Many of his children and grandchildren share his love for music today. Henry also enjoyed spending time with his many friends, family, and especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by Erma, his loving wife of over 63 years; three sons, Marty (Connie) Ellingson, Waunakee, Wis., Gary (Victoria) Ellingson, Orlando, Fla., and Jeff Ellingson, Middleton, Wis.; one daughter, Kathy (John) Schutte, Pembine; one sister, Gladys Webb, Milwaukee, Wis.; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Ellingson, 2000; four brothers, Artman, Emery, Leslie, and Edwin Ellingson; two sisters, Jeanette Renk and Alice Banda; two grandchildren, Travis and Jennifer. The visitation will be Tuesday, February 14, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pembine. Funeral services will be Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Gene Wickman will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens in Madison, Wis. The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Maryhill Manor for their comfort and support.
