Helen (Abraham) Stary, 97, Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Friday, February 22, 2008, at Golden Living Center, Florence, Wis.
Helen was born on May 24, 1910, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of the late Frank and Martha (Kugler) Abraham. She married Samuel Galvin and later Anthony Stary. They preceded her in death.
During WWII Helen worked for Quartermaster Corp. and later Arthur S. LaPine and Company, both in Chicago. She enjoyed many hobbies, including reading, crocheting, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Her sunny disposition was a magnet to others.
Helen is survived by, one son, Robert R. Galvin (Carol Skowronski) of Way Dam Road, Crystal Falls; nieces, Joan and Barbara; many grandchildren; other nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husbands, Helen was preceded in death by, one son William; one grandson, Daniel; special niece, Josephine; and nine brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 26, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls and Friday, February 29, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Becvar and Sons Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th Street, Crestwood, Ill. Prayers will be offered Saturday, March 1, 2008, 9:00a.m. at the Becvar Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 9:30 a.m. at Incarnation Catholic Church, Palos Heights, Ill. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, Ill.
