Helen S. Rudis, 86, of Crystal Falls, died Sunday, July 8, 2007, at her home. She was born June 30, 1921 in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Alex and Hannah (Knvilla) Aho. On September 18, 1948, she married Peter J. Rudis. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2006. Helen was a life long resident of Crystal Falls and was a Life Member of the VFW Auxiliary Post No. 2891, Crystal Falls. Survivors include her grandson, Dennis Rudis, Jr. of Lansing. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Dennis Rudis, Charles Bristow, four brothers, Swante, Arnold, Arthur and Solo Aho; and four sisters, Alice Aho, Saima Oatman, Lillian DeVolder and Lilah Mattson. Combined graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls, for Helen S. and Peter J. Rudis. Military honors will be accorded by the East Side Veterans Council for Peter Rudis at that time.
