Fence-Helen M. Nichols, age 77, of Fence, Wis., passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019, at LindenGrove Communities, New Berlin, Wis.

She was born August 8, 1941, in Wabeno, Wis., daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (LaFountain) Verbunker. Helen married Dale Nichols on August 29, 1959 in Cudahy, Wis. She worked at AC Spark Plug in Oak Creek for 18 years. Helen was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Armstrong Creek, Wis.

She enjoyed playing cribbage, gambling at the casino, and especially cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

Helen is survived by her husband, Dale Nichols, New Berlin, Wis.; four sons, Richard Nichols, Fence, Wis., Benedict Nichols, Milwaukee, Wis., Dale (Karen) Nichols, Greenfield, Wis. and Duane (Becky) Nichols, New Berlin, Wis.; one sister, Mary Bruttig, Cudahy, Wis.; one brother-in-law, Lloyd Schrieber, Wabeno, Wis.; and by her dog Toby.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by five brothers, Jim, George, Bob, Bill and Gilbert Verbunker, and by two sisters, Elizabeth Martin and Nancy Schrieber.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 15, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Armstrong Creek, Wis. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Fr. John Cerkas will officiate. Burial will be in Fence Cemetery, Fence, Wis., in the Spring.
