Helen I. Jones, 84, formerly of Florence, Wisc., passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers, Mich. Helen was born June 16, 1924 in Menominee, Mich. daughter of the late Leo and Amy (Antes) Plutchak. She married Vernard Jones on August 22, 1942 in Kenosha, Wisc. He preceded her in death on July 13, 2007. Helen grew up in Kenosha and graduated from Kenosha High School in 1942. She worked at Snap-On Tools as the Manager of Marketing for 28 years, retiring in 1984 at which time she moved to Florence. She was an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Florence and Bethany Lutheran Church, Kenosha where she served on the Altar Guild and was a teacher for the Girl Pioneers. Helen is survived by two sons, Gerald W. (Diane) Jones, Burke, Virg.; Alan L. (Susan) Jones, Florence, Wisc.; one daughter, Charlotte A. (Harold) Samuleson, Kenosha, Wisc.; one brother, William (Nancy) Plutchak, Kenosha, Wisc.; two sisters, Rosemary Walker Phoenix, Ariz.; Virginia (Jacob) Gombar, Kenosha, Wisc.; nine grandchildren, Timothy Jones, Heather Jones, Khara Jones, Nicole Jones, Robert Williams, Jeffrey Jones, David Jones, Cassandra Lee, Greg Lee and eleven great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Vernard, Helen was preceded by two brothers, Leo and Raymond Plutchak, and a granddaughter, Janet Williams.
