Helen M. Ghere, 93, of Florence, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Golden Living Center, Florence. She was born April 6, 1919, in Hartford, Wis., daughter of the late Steve and Catherine (Heiliker) Cuggino. Helen grew up in Breitung Township and attended school in Kingsford. She moved to Florence in 1945. Helen married Lloyd Stout in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1970. In August of 1985, she married Oscar Ghere. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2005. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crafting, and camping. Helen was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary for over 50 years. Helen is survived by three sons, Raymond (Jane) Todish, Oklahoma, Bob (Ruth) Todish, Banger, Calif., Bill (Paula) Todish, Crystal Falls; one daughter, Francis (Danny) Williams, Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Grace Walters, Iron Mountain, Ethel (Dick) Galup, Levitown, Pa.; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by one daughter, Bonita; four brothers Carl Cuggino, Ed Cuggino, Jack Cuggino, Steve Cuggino; three sisters, Edith, Alvina, and Mary.
